All students that have taken their chapter 4 test should have scores in PowerSchool at this point. I was very surprised at the range in scores. A few students got close to 100%. Please check your student's score in PowerSchool and congratulate them on a job well done if this is the case for your student.

If not, don't worry. Students are able to hand in test corrections until Thursday to get up to 30 points back on their test grade (.5 points for every corrected answer). All students are required to do test corrections as a homework assignment so please encourage your student to get this assignment in on time.

5 School Days until Break

It's that time of year again!!! 20 school days until semester exams.

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. Here is a tentative schedule for the last week of school before break.

Today is the last day for students to hand in cans to donate to the salvation army. I have given 3 extra credit points per can up to 15 points.

Salvation Army Can Drive:

Students may bring in canned goods to donate to the salvation army. Students receive 3 points EC per can up to 15 points. The class that donates the most cans will watch a 2-day Christmas movie the two days before christmas break and will get to bring treats.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

Schedule for this very short week goes as follows.

Monday- 4-3 notes and 4-3 practice ws (skip number 10 and number 11) you may print these out from last weeks post.

Tuesday- Possible reward day. If all Friday quizzes average out to a B or better, we will be watching a short holiday film or doing a Thanksgiving project.

Enjoy your family and friends this Thanksgiving. I am very thankful to have such wonderful helpful students that brighten my day.

Schedule for the week of Nov 2

Below is a tentative schedule for the week. As many of you are aware, Friday is the end of the first marking period. In order to accommodate students who are absent, all assignments after Tuesday, will be reported under the second marking period. Any late work must be handed in by Wednesday in order for your student to receive credit.

Parent teacher conferences are scheduled for November 12th after school. Unfortunately, scheduling difficulties will force me to miss the traditional time that parent-teacher conferences are held. I would still very much like to meet with you to discuss your student and his or her progress. I will be available everyday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in room A 304, and I plan on staying after school until 5 p.m. on the day of parent-teacher conferences. Halloween Week Schedule and Updates

Sorry for the lack of updates this past week. It has been difficult to determine the best way to proceed with classes as many students missed a significant amount of time. We have a test today, which will be the last test on this marking period. The schedule is also a little skewed due to the lockdown on Monday afternoon.

Monday-3rd hour had a test review. They were assigned page 120 1-26 along with the guided problem solving worksheet. This is due after the test on tues.

5th and 6th hours did not meet due to all students being locked down in fourth hour.

Tuesday- 3rd hour had a test on chapter 2

5th and 6th hour had a test review. They were assigned the guided problem solving worksheets along with page 120, 1-26 which is due after the test on Wed.

Wednesday- 3rd hour started 3-1 with the 3-1 notesheet. HW was page 131 1-13 Due tomorrow at the beginning of the hour.

5th and 6th hour- Test today, and guided problem solving worksheets with chapter review due.

Thursday-

3rd hr 3-1 guided practice and practice worksheet

5th and 6th 3-1 notesheet and page 131 1-13

Friday-

3rd hour- go over test. Quiz on 3-1

5th and 6th- 3-1 practice and guided problem solving sheets.

Hopefully, next week we can get all classes back on the same schedule.

Friday, November 6th is the end of the first marking period. No late work will be accepted, and no make-ups will be given without extreme circumstances after Wednesday Nov 4th.

Revised Schedule

I am out Tues and Wed of this week due to the school closing in Rapid River, my son's daycare has an overflow of kids.

Wednesday-Students should finish the review pack given on Tuesday it is due at the end of the hour. If there is time left over, they should be working on studying for the test or working on the optional extra credit assignment.

Thursday- We will have a review day for the test.

THERE WILL BE A STUDY SESSION DURING LUNCH TO HELP STRUGGLING STUDENTS PREPARE FOR THE TEST.

Friday- There will be a test on all of chapter 2. There are lots of study resources on our textbook's web site. Check out my earlier posts for access instructions.

Class Behavior and absences

There has been a very large amount of late work this year. Absences and illnesses have really complicated the first marking period. Your student is given enough time every day to finish his or her class assignments. If you see a zero in PowerSchool and your student was not absent. He or she did not hand it an assignment that he or she was given enough time to finish in class. Class behavior has been way too rowdy this year. Many students are coming unprepared to class on a daily basis. I will put comments in PowerSchool to let you know if your student is having problems in this area. Look for comments in PowerSchool, and e-mail me with any questions regarding your student.

Optional Assignment Chapter 2

This assignment is worth 25 points and is optional. Students who complete the assignment will receive 25/25. I strongly encourage all students missing homework or with low quiz and test scores to do these five worksheets. They are due Friday Oct 23.
